They’re the backbone of our entire organization; the glue that makes sure nothing falls through the cracks, the wind beneath our collective ZMac wings; our Account Specialists Extraordinaire. Put your hands together for The POD Squad.
Q: What does The POD Squad do?
A: As Louisa May Alcott wrote in Little Women, “It takes two flints to make a fire,” and that’s how we view our role as Account Specialists. We partner closely with our sales leads and together handle all aspects of the sales process. In many ways, we are the ones who keep everything moving, literally. We are in front of the curtain communicating with customers and our operations teams, as well as behind the scenes, updating orders, running quotes, and directly supporting our leaders on the sales floor during day-to-day business. We keep our relationships with customers strong and growing. It’s not surprising we get to know our customers really well – everything from their favorite foods to wedding anniversaries to the latest antics from their grandchildren.
Q: Who makes up The POD Squad?
A: We are six Account Specialists-strong, with five of us working in our corporate office in Racine, Wisconsin, and one stellar soul (Amanda) in our Cincinnati field office.

Q. What is a typical day like with The POD Squad Account Specialists?
A: Typical?!? That word doesn’t exist in our vocabulary. It could be a chill day, or it could be a day we have to jump right in the middle of a 10-load project putting pieces together after the fact. We share accounts with the leads, but of course, hold our own relationships. We might be working more on our work, our lead’s work, or even helping out a newbie. We are experts at the details and spend a lot of our time double checking, fine-tuning, and communicating all the moving parts for each shipment. It’s a fact that as Account Specialists we can go from 0-60 in a matter of minutes. It’s all just part of the job.
Q: What interesting challenges have The POD Squad faced?
A: Our job is a little different than the typical sales job, because sometimes we have to jump in the middle of things without having any idea of what’s going on, but still need to make sure our customers only see a seamless shipment. As a team, we’ve learned that when a sticky situation arises, the best solutions always involve transparency, effective communication, and empathy.
Q: What else would be fun to know about The POD Squad Account Specialists?
A: We are so similar, yet quirky in our own way. We are all about keeping a positive attitude. And, we are all uber-flexible; ready to do whatever it takes to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. (As evidenced by our POD Squad signature hashtag, #thesestrongshoulders.)
