Watt a Load: Battery Blocks to Power Florida’s Future

Power in Motion: 25 Battery Blocks Bound for the Sunshine State

It’s not every day you haul nearly 2.2 million pounds of critical infrastructure for one project, but for ZMac, it’s all in a week’s work.

Our team recently coordinated the transport of 25 Battery Blocks, each weighing 88,000 pounds, from Brunswick, GA to a solar farm in Florida. These units play a key role in harnessing and storing energy generated by solar panels, keeping clean energy projects running long after the sun goes down.

With less than a week to get it done, we managed everything from careful equipment/carrier selection to delivery. Every battery block traveled on an RGN trailer, giving the flexibility and support needed to handle high-value freight like this.

But moving this freight wasn’t just about having the right trailer, it required strict timing and attention to detail at every step. All drivers had to meet TWIC requirements to access the port, follow a precise crane appointment schedule, and use proper padding to prevent chain damage to the units' exterior. Drivers performed detailed video inspections at pickup and delivery to document the condition of every piece.

Thanks to tight coordination, clear communication, and a team that knows how to manage specialized freight under pressure, all 25 battery blocks delivered safely.

At ZMac, specialized and high-value freight isn’t just about size, it’s about planning, precision, teamwork, and keeping the future powered.
