A Power Move: Buffalo Bound with Big-Time Voltage
Hauling a prefabricated electrical house from Wisconsin to Buffalo, New York called for more than muscle. With the e-house measuring in at 50’9” long, 16’10” wide, 13’ tall, and tipping the scales at 108,000 pounds, the load demanded careful coordination from start to finish – that’s where ZMac came in. Because the Buffalo jobsite offered about as much breathing room as an overstuffed breaker panel, we kicked things off by planning a visit to the delivery site for the carrier. Being able to survey the site in NY prior to loading in WI allowed us to form a solidified plan by confirming clearances, setting turning points, and establishing a step-by-step timeline long before the rubber met road.
With permits and escorts secured, high-value insurance arranged, and a seasoned driver at the wheel, the e-house began its trek to the east. Mid trip, a surprise DOT inspection tried to dim the lights on our timetable. Instead of panic, our heavy haul team communicated real-time updates between the driver’s dispatch and the Buffalo crew, so everyone stayed on the same page (no one likes being left in the dark 😉).
On arrival, the steerable trailer did exactly what it was built for: pivoted through tight spaces to make delivery as seamless as possible. From pre-haul reconnaissance to last minute curveballs, this move proved once again that energy isn’t just carried in cables; it’s generated by sharp planning, steady communication, and the right equipment.
Facing an oversized challenge of your own? ZMac’s Heavy Haul team is ready to deliver.
