As ZMac continues to grow, we welcome our newest employees, Kerry and Randy! Kerry and Randy opened up our newest office in Atlanta, Georgia in March. Help us welcome them both!
[ZMac Transportation Solutions] ZMac: Hi Kerry! Hi Randy! As our newest employees, we’d like to welcome you to the team and introduce you to everyone. Let’s start with something easy: what’s something you’re known for?
[Kerry Bennett] KB: Thanks! I’m glad to be on the team. Hm… something I’m known for is being a movie connoisseur.
ZMac: Interesting. Are we talking going to the movie theaters or Netflix?
KB: Both, but I go to the movies about twice a week.
ZMac: Wow! That’s a lot of movies. What’s the last movie you watched, at home or in the theaters?
KB: “Deadpool” and it was great. Easily the best movie of the year so far.
ZMac: I haven’t seen “Deadpool” yet, but I’ve heard good things about it. Any movies you’re looking forward to seeing in the theaters?
KB: Absolutely. I’m excited for “Capitan America: Civil War” in early May, “X-Men: Apocalypse” in late May, “Ghostbusters” in July, and “Suicide Squad” in August.
ZMac: Well now we know who you to go to for movie recommendations and reviews! Randy, what’s something that people would be surprised to know about you?
[Randy Aragon] RA: I think people would be surprised to know that I’m a certified personal trainer and nutritionist through the International Sports Sciences Association.
ZMac: That takes some serious dedication. How did you get into personal training?
RA: It definitely takes commitment. I specialized in hand-to-hand combat in the United States Marine Corps. From there I trained in karate, muay thai, jui-jitsu, and krav maga.
ZMac: How long have you been a certified trainer?
RA: Nine years. My expertise is in baseball, football, cross training, and mixed martial arts. I owned Battlegrounds MMA Studio in Georgia for a few years, too.
KB: [clears throat] Well, compared to Randy’s answer, my answer seems a little…
ZMac: …a little?
KB: I’m just going to say it. I’m scared of the dark.
ZMac: Okay. What level of scared of the dark are you: nightlight while you sleep or won’t leave the house after the sun goes down?
KB: [laughs] I definitely leave the house after dark, but you’ll find my TV or the closet light on all night.
ZMac: I know a lot of people who sleep with the TV on and now I’m starting to wonder if it’s for the same reason as you.
KB: You might be surprised.
ZMac: What would you say are the top highlights of your life?
KB: When my brother and I graduated college and having my mother come home from war. She had a few tours in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan while I was in high school and college.
ZMac: Those are some big life changing moments. Where did you and your brother attend college?
KB: I graduated from the University of West Georgia in December 2010 with a degree in Business Management. My brother graduated from the University of Georgia this past December with a degree in Economics. I’m proud to say that he graduated with a 4.0 GPA and is studying for the LSAT.
RA: I’d say the highlights of my life have been serving in the United States Marine Corps, having children and grandchildren, and finding God.
ZMac: Randy, how many children and grandchildren do you have?
RA: I have three kids. Jason is my oldest at 32 with four kids of his own. Next is my 19-year-old adopted son, Christian, who is in his second year at Andrew College. I also have a 19-year-old daughter, Kaitlyn, who’s in her first year at University of West Georgia.
ZMac: It sounds like you guys have a full house during the holidays!
RA: We absolutely do. Nothing makes me happier than when I’m spending time with my children and grandchildren.
ZMac: We like to throw in an off-the-wall question, just for fun. What do you think your spirit animal is?
RA: I’ll let Kerry take the lead on this one.
KB: Wolf. No question.
ZMac: That was a quick response. Have you thought about this before?
KB: Well, not exactly, but it fits perfectly. I’m a night owl who likes to hunt. In a wolf pack you have the option to lead or to follow. One of my favorite quotes is, “he who cannot be a good follower cannot be a good leader” by Aristotle.
ZMac: With that answer, I think you’ll fit in perfectly on #TeamZMac. Welcome to the team, Kerry and Randy!
