After a strong start in the beginning of the year, the total number of available loads has leveled off and the month of May experienced a small decline. The accompanying chart shows the monthly average number of available loads nationwide since 2014. The trending is similar year over year; however, each year the monthly average has been lower than the same month the previous year. Although the number of available loads nationwide has dipped recently, South-Central regions have seen positive growth the past two months, notably Decatur (AL), Houston, Little Rock and Birmingham.
