At the end of June, we noted the number of available loads started to decline slightly after experiencing the highest level seen for the year.  The decline continued much more sharply in July, as available loads dipped to the lowest level since February of this year.  The accompanying chart shows the dramatic change in available flatbed loads nationwide since July of last year.  These variances throughout the year lend explanation to why we often experience sharp changes in rates month to month.
