The spring season is starting with positive signs for flatbed load demand. The month of March ended with a 50% gain in the number of available loads from the start of the month. This continues the steady increases we have seen since the start of the year.
The accompanying chart reflects the variance in number of available inbound loads over the past two months from the respective market’s 90-day average. The Southeast and Texas regions have seen significant gains the past two months while historically low volume regions have seen only modest gains. Most significant is that only one region experienced a decline in the average number of inbound loads the past two months. This is definitely an encouraging trend for 2016.
